October 1 2011 We had a marvellous time at the Athene Luxury Villas and the villa itself exceeded our expectations in both terms of location and general standard. The swimming pool and outside areas in particular are spectacular. However there are one or two points that we felt could be improved upon. Firstly the kitchen utensils were sadly lacking in both the cutlery and crockery departments. I’m afraid that one very blunt kitchen knife does not cut for me (pardon the pun). A lack of drinking glasses and a frying pan that was so worn that it was depositing it’s Teflon coating on the food just added to the dismay. I might mention that the frying pan dilemma was reported to the onsite representative but not resolved. The free WI-FI internet access was not in-fact wireless, but via a hard wired system with a workstation and monitor that might have been state-of-the-art circa 1991. As was the television provided. These points we felt let down what is otherwise an extremely high standard villa. In conclusion, the villa is outstanding but with a few euros spent on updating the kitchen utensils etc. it would be truly exceptional. |
