The district of Nea Chora extends north-west of Chania. It is a waterfront area and it can be reached by following the seaside road beyond the Venetian Harbour to the west.

Here, there are some excellent fish tavernas along the waterfront,(try the Akrogiali) and a fine sandy beach which is used by locals and tourists for swimming during the summer. There is a lovely small fishing harbour which enhances the atmosphere.

Nea Chora is a short walk away from the centre of Chania, making it a great location with easy access to shops, tavernas, restaurants and bars that Chania has to offer.
