Situated in an excellent panoramic position overlooking the bay of Kalathas the Hrisoherakis Studios, built by a local couple (Andreas and Sofia), are unusually spacious. They are designed on two levels; the sleeping area is on an ‘open plan’ upper level and the shower room, kitchen and living area, where a third person can be accommodated, are on the lower level. They all have an outside terrace leading from the living area where you can enjoy fantastic views that stretch far across the bay. A super-market and the bus station are 600 m away from the studios.
Hrisoherakis studios'''' lovely swimming pool is conveniently positioned next to the ''''tower'''' snack bar where you can order light refreshments anytime. You are spoilt for choice when it comes to good beaches. Kalathas Bay, less than 1.6 km away from the studios, boasts beautiful clear waters, a sandy beach, water sports, including scuba diving, and a taverna and snack bar. Alernatively Marathi, Stavros and Tersanas Bay all offer sandy beaches and crystal clear water, ideal for swimming, snorkelling or just soaking up the sun.
In the evening, if you want something more than the twinkling lights across the bay, visit one of the villages close by for traditional Cretan cuisine or head to the wonderfully atmospheric town of Chania, only 9.2 km away from the studios, where you can’t help but get lost in the history of this picturesque town. It’s a delightfull place to wander, eat dinner or just ‘watch the world go’ by sitting in one of the many harbour side cafes or tavernas.
