Kalathas Villas in Kalathas, Chania

Chorafakia is a small village in the middle of the distance between Kalathas and Tersanas villages, 12 km northeast from Chania. It is an ideal place if you want to have family and unwind holidays.

In Kalathas vilalge (1.5 km south from the Alloni apartments) there  is a famous, quiet, sandy beach lined by pine trees and a lovely islet in front. A restaurant and a beach-volley field lie on the sandy beach. Tersanas beach (1.5 km northwest) is another fine sandy beach to visit for a few hours. You can find a canteen on that beach.

Another fine, sandy beach can be found in Stavros (6 km north) where, apart from the soft sand and the clear waters, visitors can find a Neolithic cave that was used as a sanctuary from the end of the Bronze Period and through all the Greek periods.

The village is 20 minutes far from the international airport of Chania and half an hour from the port of Souda. There is frequent (six times per day) transportation connection with the centre of Chania. Sometimes the sandy beach may be crowded but even like that it is a fine place to visit for a few hours.
