September 3 2011 The location of the hotel is great to explore the city of Chania and the western part of Crete. The room with seaview was nicely decorated, clean, had a great view of the ocean and the bed was very comfortable. The staff was very friendly and helpful with any questions we had. The only minor disappointment is that the pool of the hotel is right next to a major road, so it's not suitable for enjoying a quiet vacation by the swimming pool. There is a lot of traffic passing by. But for us this was no problem, since we wanted to explore the island. We did not use breakfast, so we cannot comment on the quality of the breakfast. The hotel does not have a restaurant, but there are a few restaurants in village of Kalamaki which is whithin walking distance. We would recommend this hotel if you're looking for clean, comfortable hotel with great service and are interested in seeing the island. For people who are just interested to spend their holiday in the hotel, it's better to go to Agia marina or Platanias. |

June 11 2011 Excellent hotel. We stayed there for second time and we enjoyed the clean and confortable rooms in a location very convenient for exploring Chania. The personel is really friendly. |

June 26 2010 It is the second time i spend time there for my holidays, last year i loved that hotel but this time i am in love with it... 100% i will go there again for my next holidays in chania..there and only there.. it is value for money... perfect hotel and perfect service.. great reception and very helpfull always with a smile in their face... only an issue-need wirelles internet... |

July 2 2009 In all a very nice hotel with a family and friendly atmosphere.Very clean and nice. The breakfast a bit boring ( tohave the same every day) but ok. The alarm system on the doors is crazy and I have never seen similar. In any case a very nice place !! - July 2009 |

June 19 2009 Ολα ήταν πολύ ωραία,τα υπνοδωμάτια πάντα περιποιημένα και καθαρά, το πρωινό πλούσιο και οι ιδιοκτήτες ιδιαίτερα φιλικοί και εξυπηρετικοί. Μόνο το parking ήταν λίγο στενό αλλά αυτό είναι το τελευταίο. Και οι τιμες αρκετα λογικές!! Να το προτιμήσετε!!! |

May 23 2009 Dear Mr. Solidakis, I and my daughter, nine years old, stayed at the Porto Alegre Hotel for one week end of May this year. We were very satisfied with the room and the hotel and the kind staff-members as well. After a day at the beach we also enjoyed having an evening swim in the hotel pool. The only thing that might be improved is the narrow selection offered at breakfast, but that is not very important to me and even less to my daughter. As soon as our flight lifted from Chania Airport we decided that we would very much like coming back to Kalamaki and then preferably stay again at Porto Alegre. Which we will do next year, if only I can afford it... Best regards Per Högfeldt/Stockholm |

April 9 2009 It is a nice hotel, with spacious rooms. However, it was a pitty that the swimming pool was not cleaned and thus unavailable. Even if the water is cold, a clean blue pool is a lot more attractive to look at. Also the system of locking the doors of the rooms is very unpractical and makes a lot of noice. - April 2009 |

September 17 2008 A very nice a luxurus hotel. Very clean. The Reseptionist is a nice lady and very friendly. All the informations that we asked and she gave it to us with pleasure were very accurant and helpfull. The other member of the staff were also very helpfull and friendly. They made us thing that we were at home and not at a cold hotel. We definetly are going to use this hotel in the future. - September 2008 |

July 29 2008 We stayed at Porto Alegre Hotel for 10 days. The staff was very kind, pleasant and helpful! The room had plenty of space and the bathroom was quite big and clean. We specially enjoyed the breakfast beside the pool and the staff's "cretan hospitality"! The only problem that we had was the parking. We had a wonderful time at Crete and Porto Alegre Hotel and we hope to visit it again soon! - July/August 2008 |
