We had a great 2 week holiday and would definitely love to return to this villa. Beautiful house in a small Cretan village (fresh bread from the lady down the road not to be missed) and the most amazing hosts who were friendly and welcoming without being intrusive. The location was perfect for us - a place that allowed us to experience 'real Crete' whilst being a short (10 min) drive to the nearest town for supermarkets etc and 30 mins from the coast. The private pool was big enough/deep enough for our teenagers to lark around but also had a shallow bit at one end for younger kids. The linen was changed and the villa cleaned every few days which was a real treat. Highly recommended.

Enouph space for 4 families and friendly staff. Not what we expected when we booked a Villa. Villa Forest turned out to be extremely different from what we expected but people from TheHotel.gr were very kind and helped us cope with this situation.

First of all, the Villas Forest owner is very kind, second that is the private pool, also a lot of space in the villa are important. Nice neighbors who are very welcoming and responsive, with them we spent a very pleasant evening :) Very quiet area, far from civilization. From the front side balcony a nice view of the mountains and a small church which is located directly opposite the villa. When we had any needs, the owner responded almost immediately and delivered all stuff, which we were looking for, to the Villa. We had a late arrival time, and we had no chance to buy some food and we asked the owner to buy some food for us and as result we got the required food as gift from the owner, It was a really pleasant surprise :) The rain :( , but that wasn't Your fault :)) That was a good experience to deal with You :)) A special thanks from us to the pretty agent Matilda, from thehotel.gr, as I realized she is a very sincere person. During the time of stay, we had a one stormy day with a heavy rain, what are unusual in September, the staff of thehotel.gr contacted with us and asked is everything ok or maybe any help is needed :) That was unexpectedly and nice to know that someone took care about us.

Talo vastasi kuvausta. Kylä on niin pieni ettei siellä ole kauppaa eikä tavernaa. Auto välttämätön.

By staying at the villa Forest you got a true authentic Creatian experience. Our Host and his family were very accommodating and helpful to us. The people in the village of Defnedas were very nice to my family and me. The local bakery about a 100 yards from the villa where you can buy fresh bread and cookies. The local Gas station also serves Greek coffee and ice cream, the owner George and his mother were helpful to us. The village of Parama was about 6 km fro the Villa it had a butcher shop and a nice bakery shop where we purchased a nice fresh birthday cake. The town of Panorma is about 15 km from the villa Forest and it is a must see! It has a nice sandy beach and beautiful taverns and gift shops. We purchased some nice wine and other natural products from Irena's and Manues "Bio-Shop" All the local taverns were good but the "Nickitas Bar" in Panorma was very special place to visit. Villa Forest as a base was excellent it was close to the main highway and yet far enough away to give you feeling of being in a Crete village! We cannot think of many disadvantages but the pluming could be better. If you are looking for a night life it is not here. It is peace and quet or noise of your own making. The host and his family were very kind to my family and me. We had dinner one night with the host and his family at his resort Stone Village in Bali and it was beautiful! Any problems we had the host and his son took care of them ASAP. Over all it was a great vacation! What you see in the pictures is wat you get!

Big, spacious villa. It was 14 of us, 8 adults, and 6 children, and we were easily accommodated.
The owner is very hospitable and friendly.
The cleaning service was very good.
Older villa, some bathrooms are not so new, but ok in general.
We had a problems with the wi-fi connection.
The villa is about 15 km from the beach.
We had good vacation. There were some issues, in the first couple of days, but it was corrected by the owners hospitality.

Villa Forest in Dafnedes, app. 6 km. from Perama, and 25 km. from Rethymnon is a very nice and spacious villa. We stayed there for a week with eight persons, but the house can easily accommodate 12 persons.

The villa is large and spacious, and there are six regular bedrooms + a lot of bathrooms, so you will newer run out of space. On top of that there are seven (!) balconies and terraces, so you can be seated a new place every night.

Our host who owns the house and built it for him self 22 years ago, is an exceptionally service minded and engaged host. He and his family (who also runs the very nice 32-apartment large Stone Village in Bali) did everything they could to make our stay comfortable. Mid-week, a SWOT team of 4 persons cleaned the house. And as we were travelling with kids, the host bought our girls two Ponies to ride on in the backyard! Plus six hens to be fed. Excellent and a great experience for the kids.

Dafnedes is a very small and sleepy village, but charming in itself to follow rural life close by. There is a bakery, a gas station and a little cafe to follow life drifting by. I preferred being close to authentic Cretan living compared to a standard tourist resort.
You will need a car to explore Crete, and a car is essential from Villa Forest if you want to go anywhere. But most people would probably hire a car anyway if you are interested in culture and nature and not just want to be rosted on the beach for a full week.

There are big trees around the pool, so after 5 pm there is not much sun anymore in the pool area. To my view this is an advantage though, as it gets very hot in the afternoon sun, so you will appreciate.
I can highly recommend booking via TheHotel.Gr. The staff is friendly, and service-minded, and are good in following up.

The house is as described ..there are no hidden flaws. The rooms are comfortable and spacious and they all have view either to the pool or to the forest around the house. The house is fully equipped and has a minimal decoration and there are a lot of rest areas near the pool , the bbq and in every balcony. The owner was discreet , polite and cooperative . The whole village as well as the owner himself were quite friendly and showed great hospitality. The village the villa is situated is small and beautiful and not far from the main road. Two facts troubled us. Firstly that the road leading there was quite difficult to cross, especially at night and secondly that due to the forest the temperature fell to low levels from five pm and it prevented us from enjoying the pool in the afternoon. all in all it's a great choice either for summer or winter vacation for a numerous family or a numerous company.
