Villa Talos

Boka Nu

The 4-bedroom Villa Talos with private pool is located near the small village Spaniakos, just 5,4 km away from the beautiful, picturesque town of Paleochora far from the overcrowded areas. Placed in the center of an estate of 20 acres with a private pool of 60 sq m, it consists of three stone buildings, one of which is an renovated old oil press from the 19th century.

The first section are the common spaces for all guests. It consists of two living rooms, the fully equipped kitchen and the dining room, while a yard with an arbour can be found in the outside area. It occupies an area of 160 sq m and it is a historical building, built around 1800 AD.

The second building consists of two bedrooms with a separate bathroom each. One bedroom has a double bed and one handmade sofa-bed, while the other one has two single beds.

The third building consists of two maisonettes with a common kitchen. The first maisonette includes a bedroom with a double bed and a bathroom on the ground floor and a bedroom with two single beds on the top floor. The second maisonette offers a bedroom with two single beds and a bathroom on the ground floor and a bedroom with a double bed on the top floor.

The village was purely Turkish and had the largest mosque of the area of Chania. When it was demolished, its stones used for building the school. It is a tranquil village with olive groves, natural springs, 9 picturesque chapels, a fort and many traditional walking trails for trekking, while it is very close to the beautiful beaches of Paleochora, Elafonissi, Sougia and the gorge of Agia Irini.

In Greek mythology, Talos was a giant man of bronze who protected Crete from pirates and invaders. He circled the island's shores three times daily. It is said that the numerous beaches of Paleochora were made by his giant foots.

Beautiful home for at least 3 families. With clean and separate bathrooms for all rooms. We also enjoyed that the the pool were in the centre, so that we could hang out in the area when the kids were playing in the pool.
We were so positive surprised when entering the house! We had a wonderful warm welcome by the owners. We were all overwhelmed by the arrangement upon our arrival - with filled refrigerators with breakfast for the next day (so we didn't directly have to go to the supermarket), water and homemade pastry directly from the oven! Such a luxury! As soon as we had any inquiries theHotel.gr or the owners were very quick to respond and solve any little problem or question! We had a super stay at Villa Talos and are hoping to get back soon again!
