Wonderfully charming, but modern and luxurious apartment right in the heart of the bustling Palaiochora town centre. It’s central location is ideal for the many authentic bars, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and the two beaches. The accommodation was real quality and spotlessly clean, with great fitments and fittings. Everything you need has been considered in this spacious holiday apartment, including well equipped kitchen and big screen TV (with Netflix). Bedrooms were large with air con, one with King size bed and another with two singles (very comfy beds). There were loads of towels, pillows and bedding. Great to sit out on the balcony and ‘people watch’ on the two aspects. Considering its central location in the hub of the town when closing the double glazed doors and shutters effectively drowned out most of the noise. We did have a problem with one of the three air conditioning units but this was fixed the next morning. The owner and agents are very responsive and attentive. The only negatives were the no parking outside and the disappointing bathroom size, however there is free parking space less than 5 mins walk away. The hot water is heated from solar and there is no electric backup, so on a dull day there is limited hot water. The washing machine located in the bathroom was very handy, although you do have to work out the settings all in Greek. The communal trash bins are located on the next street. The owner sent me lots of info on our arrival day. In my opinion a printed guest hand book would have been better to digest, particularly if some guests don’t have what s app. Overall, 9/10. We had a fabulous time in Palaiochora, it’s a lovely Cretan town, full of character with a laid back vibe. The weather in early October was lovely, warm and sunny with no mosquitoes. We were actually really sad to leave as we had enjoyed it so much (and it was our home for a week) and would highly recommend this exceptional holiday apartment.
