I could not rate this property more highly, we wanted a quiet property near the sea with a pool and Villa Levande delivered! The quiet village of Sfinari was delightful and locals very welcoming.
The property is well located about an hour from Chania airport and for the sites on the western side of Crete including some great beaches.
Both our hosts and the staff of TheHotel.gr were very attentive, with loads of information and suggestions of what to do for our vacation. We travelled with two children who loved the pool and would spend hours a day in it, the property has a wonderful view over the sea for sunset which was wonderful.
With all such holidays it’s the little things that make you feel truly relaxed and welcome and the owners of the property managed this really well. From meeting us at the property with an evening meal to following up with us to see if we needed anything during the week, was a lovely touch.
If your looking for a property with a pool by the sea then look no further!

We wanted a week-long break where we could just switch off - this beautiful villa was perfect. The house is wonderful - very clean and pretty and with everything you need. The rooms are a good size, beds comfy, there's loads of sofa space, plenty of hot water, window screens to keep out insects. The outside area is lovely. We lounged by the pool and floated on lilos looking at the amazing view. Swallows skimmed the water a few feet from us - completely magical. The planting around the property is wonderful, with fresh herbs and geraniums, the smell of lavender, and at night the most gorgeous jasmine scent. All of this would have been enough to make a perfect break, but on top we met two wonderful hosts - kind, generous, knowledgeable fun. There was homemade food and drinks waiting when we arrived, and more when we left. They invited us to join a village feast one evening and we had a fantastic time. This stay was really beyond perfect, and we'd love to return - thank you so much E&G!

We could not have asked for a better place to enjoy our vacation. The house is absolutely stunning, the photos do not do justice to the serenity, breathtaking sunsets, and absolute calm of this home & surrounding environment. The house was spotless, and designed with a great layout for families, offering multiple paths in/out, privacy, and movement between the patio & pool and indoors. The owners went above and beyond as hosts, greeting us upon arrival with homemade moussaka & incredibly warm hospitality. They were available all week with great local tips and support. We loved the calm of the west coast, and found the 1hr drive to most beaches manageable. After a day at the beaches, we felt so lucky to return to this home to grill, enjoy the sunset, and swim with the kids. It's a truly special spot -- a gem.

We had a fantastic stay in this beautiful villa. We felt very well looked after by the hosts and stayed in regular contact with them. They were very eager to support and offer advice whenever it was needed. The villa itself is absolutely beautiful. It’s very well-equipped, the pool is wonderful and the view is just perfect. Sfinari itself is a quiet village which is exactly what we were after. We tried two tavernas down on the beach (Thalami and Captain Fidias) and both were lovely - delicious food and friendly service! We must also say thank you so much to lovely owner who made us a home-cooked meal and was always on hand to offer brilliant recommendations. We would highly recommend this villa to anyone and hope to visit again in the future.

Lækker villa med en fantastisk udsigt. Villaen ligger i gåafstand til en lille købmand og stranden, hvor der er flere gode restauranter. Villaen var godt udstyret og havde alt vi havde brug for. Vi fik mulighed for at tjekke ind tidligt og vores værter havde sørget for både morgenmad og frokost til os i huset - meget imponerende. Vi fik gode råd til aktiviteter under vores ophold og gjorde god brug af den bog med beskrivelser af ture, der var i huset. Vi kan varmt anbefale stedet.

This stay in Sfinari is just heavenly. Everyone—from the Airbnb hosts to the local owners — was so communicative from the start. The owners went out of his way to come meet us even though our arrival time changed, and they had prepared an incredible moussaka, salad, cake, and cookies! The home is absolutely stunning and very well supplied. The pool is dreamy, and the beds are super comfortable. The owners had also put together a great list of recommendations for things to do on the west side. Both the owners and hosts also went out of their way to help us track down some more unusual souvenirs we were seeking! All in all, this is an INCREDIBLE stay and we can’t wait to return.

Perfect for a relaxing holiday. The house, views. location and the lovely hosts all contributed to a fantastic holiday for our family. The house itself is spotless, modern and has everything you would need, the picturs dont do it justice. The views at sunset are truly incredible. The owners are extremely responsive and added several unexpected treats to our stay including Eleni's delicious home cooked food! The local village, beach and tavernas are in walkable distance and the local shop is stocked well but make sure to do large shops in one of the bigger towns. There are lots of good restaurants within a short drive but be sure to read the guestbook at the house for recommendations.

We were lucky to spend two wonderful weeks in this beautiful villa. Upon arrival, we met the owners who showed us around and had prepared a delightful moussaka and Greek salad for us. The owners were incredibly responsive to all our questions during our stay and were very friendly. We loved the house and its location; it was always a pleasure to return and relax by the pool after a long day out. We visited several beaches during our stay, and Falassarna was our favorite—only a 20-minute drive from the villa. There is a small market in the village, so we recommend doing your bigger shopping at the larger supermarket in Kissamos. There’s also a smaller supermarket and a lovely bakery in Platanos, about a 15-minute drive from the villa. Our two weeks at the villa flew by, and we wish we could have stayed longer. We highly recommend this villa to anyone seeking a peaceful and quiet vacation.

Fabulous hosts, great communication, very responsive to any questions we had, beautiful location-quiet, well equipped with everything you need and a super pool; a few nice restaurants in Falassarna, the beach there is great, has water sports equipment for rent,which is approximately 15 -20 minutes away and well stocked supermarket 10mins away…

We loved our stay at Villa Levande and felt at home and relaxed right away. We were greeted by our hosts with a delicious traditional Cretan meal and provided with wonderful recommendations of things to do in the area. The Villa is absolutely stunning with olive groves and the aroma of lavander all around, you can’t fault it! While there’s not a whole lot to do in Sfinari itself, there are a few great tavernas and restaurants where you will be well looked after and get to experience a peaceful and traditional side of Crete. You’re also just a drive away from some of the most stunning beaches Crete has to offer. The roads to get to the villa including the villa’s driveway were definitely a kind of winding road we hadn’t experienced before but any stress disappears as soon as you arrive so my advice would be to be prepared but don’t let it deter you. Overall, we only stayed for a short four nights, we wished we had longer, we would absolutely come back again. Highly recommend!
