  • "The house has character within it's stone walls. You can tell from the decoration and furnishing that it was inhabited for a long time by Cretans. It works as well as a holiday house. The kitchen is stocked very well, you will find everything you need. The pool is very refreshing and the garden really quiet. The house provides a lot of space for a family of 4 or more. The location is perfect on one of the main streets in the village (next to a great bakery). "

Archanes has great character, it feels very authentic but still with local restaurants and supermarkets accessible and catering for non Greek speakers. You do need a car as rural setting and be prepared for narrow streets and local traffic."

Archanes is an amazing town, with street parking all very close and Bakaliko is recommended for a wine tasting and dinner. I would stay here again in a second, and hope to return on our next trip to Crete. Highly recommend."

Classy Villa is een prachtige traditionele villa met 3 slaapkamers, gelegen in het pittoreske, rustieke dorp Archanes, op 10 km van de stad Heraklion en 13 km van de luchthaven. Het fraaie zandstrand van Amnissos ligt op ca. 14 km.

We really enjoyed our stay at the Classy Villa. The owner very kindly met us and showed us how to reach it, even though we arrived late after our flight was delayed. The kids loved the pool and the accommodation is lovely. The town of Archanes is very nice and there are fantastic bakeries and supermarkets within a short walk. We did struggle with finding parking on the streets and it was sometimes noisy at night, but that's to be expected with it's central location. Emmanuel, Yannis and Maria were very responsive and full of great local recommendations!

We had a wonderful week in the villa and it exceeded expectations. Comfy bed, good air conditioning, a fully equipped kitchen and beautiful furnishings. The pool is fantastic - bigger than in the photos and we had no issues with the temperature. We really appreciated the electric awning for when we needed shade outside. 3 minute walk to the local square with numerous restaurants - if you're a wine lover then check out Cafe Bakaliko and their very passionate sommelier. Several well stocked supermarkets were within easy walking distance. Thank you Emmanuel and Yannis for the excellent local recommendations especially for Lygaria beach which was perfect when the weather was windy. Would come back in a heartbeat!
