Villa Roxani has lovely mountain views and is a peaceful place to stay in Crete. Manolis and his family are very kind and helpful! The villa is located in a small town away from the main town Chania, but also close enough to drive to for a visit. It is a good spot to explore the west side of the island with a car. There is a good sized supermarket 20 mins drive away and a few local tavernas close by with traditional, tasty food. The villa is authentically decorated which adds to the Cretan experience. The pool is perfect for a dip to cool off, the water is from the white mountains so very fresh. We really enjoyed our stay at the villa, thank you!!

We had a fabulous time at Villa Roxani. The villa has all the amenities you could want and Manolis was very helpful both before and throughout our stay. The children loved the pool and we all really enjoyed using the outdoor area for eating and sunbathing with beautiful views across the valley. There are some lovely tavernas in the area and many beaches within a 25-30 minute drive. Highly recommend.

This place was a little paradise, the outdoor pool and kitchen was so beautiful. Manolis and his family were wonderful hosts, even bringing us fresh produce from their garden which made the trip even more special. It is the perfect location if you want some quiet away from the city but also not too far to drive to many nice sites.

The villa is lovely and has everything you will need for your stay. We were immediately made to feel welcome (raki!). There is a large, lime-tree-shaded terrace that offers a good view over the village, to the mountains. The decor is a pleasant mix of the traditional and the more contemporary. There are a few (albeit quite poorly stocked) shops and a bakery within five minutes' walk of the villa. The Halaris taverna has good food, including good veggie/vegan options (the orange juice alone is worth the trip), and it's a good location for walks. You'll need a car to get out to the coast, or into Chania, as buses are very infrequent. The only disadvantage, and it must be borne in mind that the villa is in the heart of agricultural country, is the noise. Dogs and roosters can be a problem, but you get used to it quickly. Otherwise, Meskla is a charming place. And it helps if you like cats. Maria at was very professional, responsive and cheerful. I didn't deal with any other staff, but I have no hesitation in recommending the company. Meskla is possibly an underrated location (or perhaps there's not much holiday accommodation available) , but it is central to the west of the island and the coast is only about 50 minutes' drive in any direction (except east). We found it convenient for the Samaria Gorge, Chania Old Town, beautiful beaches and other places, such as the Valsamioti Dam and Agia Lake. The sea is extraordinarily clear, visibility for snorkelling is in the tens of metres. It's also surprisingly green for a mountainous, dry area; water doesn't seem to be difficult to come by as many of the groves are irrigated via miles and miles of pipes.

We recommend. Emmanuel and his extended family gave us a very warm welcome to Meskla, not to mention regular gifts of fresh produce and home cooking throughout our stay. The house itself is cool, quiet, and functional. Meskla and the surrounding mountain villages are beautiful to visit, hike, and drive, and well placed for day trips to Samaria, Agia Irini, Sarakina gorges.

The Villa Roxani in Meskla is the perfect location for everyone who wants to get away from mainstream tourist attractions an experience the natural spirit of Crete. The owner Mr. Manolis & his mama were the nicest hosts we ever had - offering us a warm welcome with raki & homemade cheese. Emmanuel & Yannis gave us fast & professional help for all our needs. Meskla itself is a quiet little village with an excellent tavern & great hikes through forests, mountains & canyons to beautiful mountain-villages Zouvra & Lakki.

Very friendly hospitality, very quiet, immersed in lush green environment. Simple spacious apartment. Very nice taverna (Halaris) with enormous Platanus tree covering the whole taverna area worth alone a visit to Mesklà. Beautiful and easy Gorge Sarakina.
